Anitra D. Milton aka The Bari-GodmotherMy name is Anitra D. Milton, and I am your Bari-Godmother! I am a two-time recipient of bariatric surgery. My first surgery was a Gastric Lap-Band in 2007. After experiencing issues with that surgery, I still experienced and maintained some weight loss. In 2020 I opted to have Gastric Bypass surgery to remove the Lap-Band. All in all, I have lost close to 200 pounds. Yes, I lost an overweight person!

I get many questions as to why I opted to have the surgery and especially why would I do it two times. It is because I was determined to be on my 'weigh' down. I was determined to lose weight but was honest in saying I needed help to do so. Many have indicated that I took the easy way out and that could not be further from the truth. Having weight loss surgery provides you with a tool to help you lose the weight you want to lose but it is not a magic wand!
